Granny Beaten to Death
KLANG: When family members visited the home of 74-year-old Rahimah Mohd Noh in Batu 4,
Jalan Kapar, Sementa, here on Saturday evening, they found the house dark but thought
she had gone for prayers at a nearby surau.
It was not unusual for the grandmother, who lived alone, to spend a lot of time there but
when they found out she did not go to the surau, they became worried and returned to the
house, only to make a shocking discovery.
They found Rahimah slumped face down on the floor, her bloodied body bundled in a
blanket.
There were bruises on her neck, believed to be have been caused when robbers snatched
her necklace.
North Klang district police chief Supt Mohamad Shukor Sulong said the robbery
occurred about 7pm on Saturday.
“We learned Rahimah always sat on the stairs at the entrance of her house every evening
and we believed the suspects might have stormed in and dragged her inside before
robbing and killing her.
Police found jewellery missing and scattered about in Rahimah's room.
“It is believed that there are more than one suspect. The victim suffered grievous
injury on her face, believed to be the result of being beaten to the ground by the suspects,
said Mohamad Shukor.
No weapons were found at the scene and no arrests have been made.
We have recorded statements from her family members and neighbours regarding
the incident,said Mohamad Shukor.
